Modern slavery statement
Last updated
This statement sets out the steps Van Roon Medical UK Ltd has taken during the year ended 31 December 2025 to understand and address the risk of slavery and human trafficking in its business and supply chains. We publish it voluntarily: our turnover is below the threshold at which a statement is required.
Our business
We sell, install and service hospital beds and patient-support surfaces in the United Kingdom and Ireland. At the end of 2025 we employed 91 people, all directly, at Morley and in the field. We are a subsidiary of Van Roon Medische Techniek B.V., Leiden, which makes the products we sell.
Our supply chains
Almost all of the goods we sell are made by our parent company in the Netherlands, and its own statement covers its suppliers of materials and components. Our own direct suppliers are mainly UK businesses: couriers and hauliers, vehicle leasing, office and workshop supplies, IT services, cleaning and facilities services, and agencies supplying temporary warehouse staff.
Where we see the risk
We consider the highest risks in our own supply chain to be in agency labour, cleaning and facilities services, and delivery drivers. In the wider supply chain of our products, the risks are in the extraction and processing of metals, in electronic components and in textiles used in mattress covers. These are managed by the manufacturer.
What we did in 2025
- Asked all 14 of our suppliers in the higher-risk categories to confirm in writing that they pay at least the national living wage, do not charge workers recruitment fees and do not hold workers’ identity documents. All 14 confirmed.
- Visited the two agencies that supply temporary staff to our warehouse and checked their pay records for the workers placed with us.
- Added a clause on slavery and human trafficking to our standard purchase terms.
- Trained all managers and the warehouse team on the signs of forced labour and how to report concerns.
Reporting concerns
Employees, agency workers and suppliers can report concerns in confidence to any director or through our whistleblowing procedure. No concerns were reported in 2025.
