About us
Van Roon Medical UK Ltd is the UK and Ireland subsidiary of Van Roon Medische Techniek B.V. of Leiden. We sell, install and service VR-series beds and support surfaces for hospitals in both countries.
We were founded in Leeds in 1995 to sell the VR-3 to British hospitals, with four staff and a single showroom bed. Today 94 people work for the company: 36 field service engineers, a service desk and technical support team, a workshop and parts store, clinical specialists and educators, and the sales, quality and finance staff who support them.
Our office, workshop, parts store and training room have been at Tarnfield Way in Morley, south of Leeds, since 2021. Engineers work from home across their territories, with the parts they need most in their vans.
What we do
- Supply. We sell VR-series beds, surfaces and accessories, deliver and install them, and train the staff who use them.
- Service. We maintain and repair about 7,400 VR-series beds and 2,100 pumps at 168 hospitals, under service agreements or as work is needed.
- Support. We train hospital engineers to maintain the beds themselves, and support them with parts, software and technical advice.
- Safety. We act for the manufacturer in the UK and Ireland on customer notices, incident reports and the records that go with them.
The manufacturer
Van Roon Medische Techniek has made hospital beds in Leiden since 1952. Its beds are designed and built there and sold in 31 countries through its own subsidiaries and distributors. Since 1984 the company has been part of an international medical technology group.
