What has happened
Controller firmware 4.12 improves the way the bed’s remote diagnostics interface checks the identity of the server it connects to. It is a preventive update. We are not aware of any bed in the UK or Ireland having been affected, and the interface is used only on beds fitted with the remote diagnostics module (VR7-0480 or VR5-0480).
The update makes no change to how the bed is used. Its instructions for use are unchanged.
What you need to do
- No action is needed by clinical staff.
- Van Roon engineers will install 4.12 at each bed’s next planned maintenance visit. Hospitals whose own engineers maintain their beds, and who hold a current Level 2 certificate, can install it with the service tool; contact the service desk for the release.
- All beds should be on 4.12 by 31 May 2026.
