What has happened
The VR-3 was made from 1991 to 2006. Its controller has not been manufactured for several years, and the last repairable controllers in our exchange pool have now been used. We can no longer guarantee to return a VR-3 to service after a controller fault.
From 1 April 2024 we will not carry out planned maintenance or repairs on VR-3 beds, and spare parts will be supplied only while stocks last. We recommend that hospitals plan to take remaining VR-3 beds out of service.
What you need to do
- Review the VR-3 beds on your asset register.
- Contact your account manager about replacement and about our take-back and recycling service.
